favorit suspension on a felicia

Featured Replies

evening all

Am i right that a cheap way to lower the front of my feli pickup would be to use Favorit front struts and springs? If so how much (roughly) would it bring it down by?

Cheers

Craig

It will fit (they are almost identical mechanically), as to how much it will lower it, unless someone's done it, no idea!

Wasn't it just a case of using favorit springs on felicia dampers to make it lower?

if the springs are shorter, would have thought the struts were too?

Yes but if the damper is shorter and you use a shorter spring it is the same net effect of just using a longer damper and a longer spring... What you need is the same damper as you have already and use a shorter spring.

What I was thinking was that the hub to lower spring mount would be shorter than a feli. but if the overal assembled struts are the same length, then just the springs are of interest.

IIRC one of the members posted on this fairly recently & pretty sure he suggested around 40mm. ;)

ohh I "think" its felly springs on a fav strut. but its been a while. I'm sure it's that way round tho but I will try and check tomorrow.

I think the felly spring platform is higher up the strut then the fav one (for bigger wheels maybe??)

they are defo different anyway lol

Craig, is your truck a diesel? Heavier engine might give you more low than you bargined for!

It is indeed a Diesel.

If the overall heights are the same, the feli platform should be lower than the favorit's (or the shorter springs woudl make it much lower)

Use the felly struts and favorit springs. The favorit platforms are higher, (so you can fit taller wheels and higher the gearing) . The favorit springs are thinner and longer but give a good drop and work ok.

Just returned the fun to original suspension and brakes to put some stuff on the diesel pickup and I`d say its a couple of inches different.

Springs are cheap pm me.

Have you got any pic's rolo? sounds a good budget route for the spring, so these and a set of A6 rears?

thats what it was on yes.

i wanted the a6 springs for the caddy and so took the whole lot off to even it up, brakes as well so the fun wheels could go back on and there`d be a spare wheel that`d go on the front again. The caddy now has 4 spares as the 17 wolferace and the 15" tsw`s both fit over the 300mm brake set up
