Cupra FMIC part numbers

Featured Replies

What are they? I'm happy to fit the FMIC myself but need to get all the part numbers first. Also does the crash barrier need to be cut or does it fit ok?

Oohhhhh I can see a how to in the making here!!

If you do a search they are all listed.

Also according to a member that tried the SEAT pipework doesnt fit the Fabia front end.

Cost is arround

Hmmmm, so would you recommend just buying the FMIC and getting some custom pipework made up by Allard or similar or should I just go the full hog and gets an Allard FMIC?

Got a quote from allard.....here is a copy of the mail they sent me:

Hello Steve,

sorry for the delay in sending reply, we have virus issue at the

moment.

I'm almost certain that this kit will fit your vehicle..

I sure that the 2005 model is the same as the 2003/4 model, even if its

not

im sure we could design a new version!

If you were to have an intercooler conversion fitted at our shop and an

Allard tuning chip, the power output would be between 150 -160 bhp.

Is it easier just to do a twin SMIC like the Audi TT? one on either side?

Pipe work invlolved is increased then which can lead to drop in boost and lag.

How much more pipework are we talking about and the cost will be significantly reduced aswell i'm guessing, also i'd assume you'd get a similar effect to an FMIC and it'd be "easier" to mount.

Well put it this way, people who tune TT's etc bin the SMIC's and fit a FMIC.

The pass has to go across to the other side od the car and then back again, alot of pipework.

You would struggle to get another smic on the other side of the car... the washer bottle is in the way on the furby.

how about looking at the fmic from a golf tdi 150.. its not gonna be as good as a seatsport fmic, but it should be easier and cheaper to fit (grab a second hand one) iirc the shape of it should fit nicely behind the lower bumper grille

Do you think the fitment would be much easier/any noticeable gains, im sure a breakers would be able to help if that is the case, then it'd be a simple case of plugging it all in and OFF WE GO.

Ive no idea..

theres only two fabias i know of with FMICs, one with the seatsport and one with a allard.

its unknown territory, it would defo be better than the standard one, but may need some minor fabrication of pipework/mountings.. ive no idea of the routing the golf/leon one takes. the benifit of the vRS that it has a huge amount of space available behind the bumper :D so ya can be quite flexible with the fitting :)

edit, another favorite from other marques is fitting the fmic from a merc sprinter van... its HUUUGE!

Did the Fabia with the Seat Sport one need any cutting around the bumper?

Did the Fabia with the Seat Sport one need any cutting around the bumper?

IIRC yes it did.

It needed alot of cutting acording to Barry, and most of the pipework was useless.

expensive i guess then... :(

Ever feel like were going around in circles here?

  • Author

Yes, just wanted some clarification that was all.

Might aswell just flog the vRS and by a PD 160 Cupra if you want breath taking performance from an oil burner, especially when custom coded :D

Or just bought the PD160 in the first place..lol

Insurance was the issue at the time, it no longer is, all mods declared, 21 years of age, no NCB

Is the drivers SMIC on the TT larger than a vRS one?

about the same size iirc

Hellfire.... just buy the bloody forge kit then tell us how it goes....

saves asking 2 million questions

I would consider it but it would have to be done without severely cutting into the car. Otherwise what's the point of a so-called custom ;)

Think I may venture down to my Dad's mate who has a TT and have peak, see if it's larger, it could be a straight swap.
