Is it possible to use fronload cd AND CD Changer?

My bolero won't link to my changer. Only offers the 6 on screen unless I need to select somewhere else as it definitely powers the changer

My changer was powered as well, but I don't think that is dependent on the head unit.

I found mine by accident by selecting "up" from playing a disc, so you could see the 6 discs, and then scrolling down.

My 310 powers my changer, but if I select CDC in VCDS I get the same "out of range" message that AndyVee does. What irks me is that, usually, VCDS won't show you options that aren't available, so am stumped with this one at the moment. The only thing I can think of is switching the AUX input off, and then trying to select the CDC. (Am also aware that there are times VAG/VCDS are not logical)

Rainbow I'm like Andy and get that error from vcds. I don't mind it not working as it has the 6 in dash and swmbo uses the aux so wouldn't want to lose that. I'll try scrolling but won't hold out much hope. Mines a 2012 model

I didn't have AUXIN enabled on mine.

The Bolero I had the trouble with was from a 2011MY car and made by Delphi. It had a completely different firmware to the other Bolero I had which was a few years older, and I don't mean version number.

Right. I got a cleaning disc yesterday and same result. When I put it in the 'Disc Error' message comes up. The CD I tried to play previously was a baught CD, not a self burnt one. This is so annoying!

My MFD2 and cd changer can toggle between head unit and changer no problems and play's copied CD's etc and mine is the oldest model they did on the MKII i think (2005). i think the dealers are telling you lies it sounds like a faulty head unit cd laser to me.

Sounds faulty to me.

Take it back and ask them to replace it for you.

If they come back with the same excuse that you can't have both CDC and in dash then ask them why they fitted the car with both from new.

Also point them to this thread if you like.

I thought so too. Think I'll have to take it back.

Thanks for the help!

I can use both the cd changer & the single cd on my octy, sounds like a fault with the radio.

Stream MP3 only plays the MP3 format too. Which was a bugger when all my stuff was done as WMA.

I think he's confirmed its an original CD which i beleive is PCM format printed not burnt etc so it should read it.
