Auto Electrician

Featured Replies

Anyone recommend an auto electrician in Manchester?

Looking to get a iPhone cable hard wired to the back of the radio.

Can't you just get one that plugs into the CD changer port

on the rear of the head unit?

I could do, but I'm quite fond of my cd changer. Being 27 years old I like to feel my music on cd rather than mp3. Guess its retro now lol.

I had one hard wired into my previous car (pug 206) and it was good.

My idea is to make a small hole in the top of the cubby hole and feed the cable through there. I have a vent mount for my iPhone, which is on drivers middle vent. And when not used I can then put the cable into the cubby hole discreetly.

I've just fitted RCL to my classic Fab which was a bit of a ball ache, and If I'd have known about those fuse kits Phil, I'd have bought a couple! Typical!

As for the FM transmitters for Iphone, I've got one (admittedly one lower in the range) but the quality is pretty poor. Its a long way from receiving Radio Two on the radio, RadioTwo! :giggle:

Yes I am not a massive fan, but in one of my cars I have a DVD system with sockets for headphones, and is great for the grand kids but I could not hear it, so I got one of these FM transmitters(not iphone unit) and wired up and works great, I must admit I got it years ago and thought they might have come on a bit

Radiotwo

Yea I'm not really after a transmitter as I don't wish to hear my music through the radio.

I simply want to be able to charge it whilst it is in the vent mount without having to have a wire trailing from the cig lighter.

Manchester Car Audio on Great Ducie St M3 1FB, have helped me out in the past - reasonable price too

Still looking guys.

Also would like to know if its possible to have a rear fog light on both rear lights, instead of just drivers side.

Yes, you just need to run a live wire from the right side to the

left side. It can be hidden behind the tailgate trim.

There is a lampholder on the left side which is earthed but not powered.
