Side light issue

Featured Replies

I have a problem with one of my sidelights not working. Both bulbs had blown and both have been replaced but only one still works. It's in the garage today but they have said they've checked the wiring and there must be break somewhere in the feed. They want to take the bumper off to check the wiring and have quoted £150 labour assuming the issue is easily located once the bumper is off.

I wasn't aware that the headlight wiring went behind the bumper. Is this right? Also, assuming there is no obvious breaks and its not a fuse/bulb issue then would it not be easier to wire a feed from the side that is working?

Cheers.

As I was reading your posting I was going to say "would it not be easier to wire a feed from the side that is working?" :hi:

The only problem with taking feed from the other side is there is a left and right circuit.

Have you checked both fuses ?

Have you confirmed the "new" bulb is ok ?

and or have you done any work on the car recently that might have caused the fault ?

just a few tries
