Why is it when you read something again more words appear?!

Now realised the op has no car with the engine, my bad :giggle:

Presumably it's part of the engine number - my V5C gives the engine number in the form BLT 000000

I suppose you're going to ask where the engine number is now!

The manual doesn't help much!

"Engine number - The engine number is stamped into the engine block."

Should be easy finding on an engine out of the car though - there's usually a machined plinth with the number stamped in it. Having said that when I sold the Atom we couldn't find the engine number on the Honda engine though we couldn't see the front very well.

Just found this

after reading more I had to 'unlike' your first post and 'like' your following one

OP, it's on the engine block somewhere, it'll contain the letters AZE or AZF for 2000-2003 or AME/AQW/ATZ for 2003>

There's a sticker on the Cam belt cover with mine on.

many thanks folks.all yor advice read and understood. i was concerned that the AQW etc would only be on the car or paperwork which we aint got. this is allegedly an old NEW engine, never fitted. i can tell them where to look now.
