Dual mass flywheel

Featured Replies

After reading through a thread the other day about the car shaking its got me panicing a little.

My car shakes on idle but stops if i put the clutch in. Which i'm guessing is the DMF? Now i have noticed this morning that it only does it when the car's cold. Once the engine is up to the correct running temperature it stops doing it. So now i'm baffled?

Also if it does go what will happen? Will it make a mess? Break anything?

Mine does the exact same but doesn't stop when i put the clutch in. Had a DMF and clutch still the same :/

does it do it constantly or every so often? yours do it when its warm?

Every so often bud. Park uphil on a hill - Does it get worse? Does for me.

Mine doesnt make a noise i can just feel it shaking. Not sure if its any different whilst on a hill or not.

its just annoying and could really do without shelling about £600 to get it sorted! its only done 57k!

anyone?

Put it in gear, then pull the clutch out slowly. If the shakes go when it starts biting, that could be the DMF.

However, you could find you drive another 50,000 miles like it and it is still the same. Only start worrying if it gets worse.

it still changes gear fine. just shakes sat at the traffic lights when its not up to full working temperature.
