Columbus and Text messages on disconnect

Featured Replies

Just out of curiosity: what BT modules are you guys using?

Is the problem just with Vodafone (most likely) or an incompatibity between Bidafone & certain Skoda BT modules.

Just a thought...

Mines a Nokia (under the drivers seat), maybe that's why Nokia works fine - given the earlier comment, it is clearly a Vodafone issue. if they wont assist, maybe (if possible) its time to walk away and use another provider - what sort of Customer Service are they running?

I don't understand what you mean about yours is a nokia and it's under the front seat, the module under the front seat drivers side is the bluetooth and rsap unit,I believe that those module fitted prior to 2011 had only the remote sim access unit fitted,I believe that anyone who uses Vodaphone and owns a nokia gets these Texts automatically as Vodaphone thinks the person is connecting a different phone each time you switch of your engine.I have tried this today and up until 1030 this morning I switched my engine off five times and received a total of ten texts from Vodaphone. All communications with Vodaphone regarding this problem are met by endless promises to block the automated texts, but in actual fact they do nothing-I am going to change to another service provider as soon as my contract expires.

Some BT modes were made by Nokia and have the company logo on it.

I use Vodafone and don't get these messages - initially had a Nokia BT module but had to use an old Nokia phone from the ark. Now have a shiny new BT module (has a VAG logo care of a German company via Ebay) an can use my HTC Desire C - still never seen any texts.

Ive just set my car kit to connect using HFP instead of Premium over the last few days and it has connected perfectly, and without the annoying messages. Set it back to Premium and the txt's from Vodafone have started again and so have the configuration messages. Ive only had my S3 since December and then when it started. No issues with my iPhone 4 as I guess it was only connecting using HFP. Just had a count up and since december I have had 208 configuration messages and almost 200 text messages from Vodafone!! Thats more than I get from the wife!

I may do what DCC and put in a formal complaint of nuisance against them. I dont want another 23 months of this, that would be almost 5000 txts from them and configuration updates.

My module has a Nokia label on it.

Nice clear description of the problem and how to resolve by deepmeister

Received 2400 text messages in about eight months, contacted 14 different Asda Support people and sent two letters.

My phone has now been placed on their VDC Blacklist system.
