Well, I'm sure if someone can do a good job then I'm sure we can come up with a price.

Looking at those pics, it doesn't seem too difficult actually. Hmm, may have to wait and se the kit first then decide if I can do it.

Why does it say a 26mm drill-bit required? Is this for the vRS so the back unit sits correctly?

I have to say your photo's are a lot better than those instructions from Skoda.

why would you need parking sensors on something as small as a fabia?

Cos I'm useless at parking :o

I need to try some for the front too at some point :D

pmsl.

it cost about 35+vat for fitting in the trade.....

we pay about 165 for the kit fitting and painting...

The larger hole saw is required on non VRS cars to drill behind the rubbing strip.

Like mine then? So I need a 22mm and a 26mm drill bit? This is gonna be fun.

Centering the first sensor which will become your datum is the tricky one.

As I told you Martin, we used the Skud badge and a long spirit level which seemed to work ok. Once you have the centre you can then measure out for the other two.

Don't forget plenty of cable ties and take your time.

Also I can't really take the credit for the Pics - Superted was the David Bailey wannabe on that day. :D

As for why you'd need it - mainly as rear-visibility is terrible. It is on most new cars so I've found, with massive pillars. Same at the front. Safety-cage and all that causing it no doubt, can be a tad annoying...

Well, come 10:30 tomorow morning my parking sensor fitting fun will have begun :o I am armed with a 22mm hole saw, lots of masking tape and Stu's brill photos. I will report back tomorrow night as to how it goes but as far as i can tell the drilling is the only difficult/brave part.

So, how did it go?

I'm going to go take the rear bumper off in a moment.

I don't think he had a good time of it Richard.

I'll send you a PM with some info.

I've just taken off the rear bumper to see how it all fits together. Seems easy now I've had a proper look, thanks Stu for your help.

Now, following Stu's pics, would any extra pics be helpful? I have a 2mp digi cam with lots of room on a memory card, so I can take many. I'm thinking more on removal of the rear bumper and the actual wiring up?

I'm off out to get some drill bits and then, I'll have a look at any ideas.

You may as well take some Richard - yours is a Non VRS bumper so it might help.

I can host them for you and then they may come in handy when I get round to doing the how too.

Ok, I'll do that. Rain has stopped play for today. However, the speaker is in and fitted, I found that just peeling the trim back slightly was enough to do the job. The wire goes down and follows the boot release cable with plenty of cable ties holding it in place. I removed the trim near the back next to rear seat though, I'll get pics on how to do that and feed the cable down from the speaker.

Also, I've got the control box mounted and connected to the speaker and it's going to be tough going with the rear light but I should be able to do it.

All that remains is the drilling of holes and cables coming through.

Stu, I was thinking of a how-to as well, but I don't think my written English is going to be good enough, I'll be grateful if you could do one and I'll help supply mucho pictures.

I have the domain sorted for hosting them I just need to try and plan out some sort of pages - not my strong point.

Ok, well, they are fitted and all connected up. And I don't believe it, they work.

I'm so happy right now.

Thankyou very much Stu for guidance and Superted for the pics.

In retropect though, I would say this is a 2 person job, I did it on my own and is ok but can get ackward when it comes to putting the bumper back on, also someone to supply drinks is helpful. Oh and young kids telling me I'm 'da man' isn't. A private driveway would be useful thats free of stones and suchlike.

If anyone wants me to help them in the south, let me know, I'm more than willing to pop over and help.
