Just an fmic fitted = more power?

Featured Replies

all my fab has is an fmic and it seems a hell of a lot quicker than usual, im not sure if its all in my head but it felt it had more power under full throttle? Not even had a map yet :S

In theory yes, it should burn up all the available fuel more fully because of the denser air from a more efficient intercooler.

i geuss this isnt alot more power but yet i can notice it. If it makes that much difference then i cant wait to do all the other mods lol

Fmic made a hell of a differnece to mine too! Wish It was the first thing I done

Wouldnt you make a little bit more power without mapping, but you'd sustain that power longer due to not have heat soak?

For the price of it is it worth it? Mines running stage 1 and don't get me wrong I love to see them but the price of it just puts me off. Was thinking about a alloy smic but not sure of they're worth it either

Does make a difference as I found with the seat sport one! Get it mapped!

is that for the fmic and the pipe work? seams cheap that? where from?

i bought it from a guy in blackpool, he didnt know if it would fit the fabia as they are off the seat, bought the fmic and some pipes for £200 and then bought some bits off ebay for about £30

I'm sure I've read that a FMIC can cause a little more Turbo lag due to the extra length of pipework. I'm guessing you are haven't noticed any difference in lag.

yes you are right, when setting off a takes a while longer to hit boost but you know when its in boost as it pulls soo much better than standard

From my reckoning you can get about 30seconds un heatsoaked on standard SMIC.

So if beating on it all the time I'm not surpised that you would feel a bog down and the FMIC would be better.

I can't see that as a bad thing especially in first gear :)
