Fed up with Symphony

Featured Replies

I'd fed up with the crappy standard fit head unit and autochanger in my Octy vRS. Suggestions, please, guys, for a replacement?

I saw some time ago a link to a website which was selling a Blaupunkt HU but have lost it :( :( :(

It all depends on what you want from a headunit. I would personally go for a screen head unit with DVD player, and maybe satnav too? Any of the Pioneer DVD/Avic series, or Alpine D series are all great motorised head units. Alternatively, if you prefer to have a "standard" head unit, the Alpine 9855 is extremely popular at the moment.

If you want a good place to buy them from, try www.caraudiodirect.co.uk , from personal experience, they have very good customer services, and very good prices too

I like the look of these here

play dvd's and mp3's etc have inputs for more screens and an input for a reversing camera

Shame you cant fit the stuff from the Furby vRS in it, the quality of gear in that is a LOT better as standard - doubt it would fit though :(

I was actually shocked at how bad the Octy's sound system was (base model though so probably better ones about).

Let's put it this way - whatever you fit, it will probably be better. I'd also change the speakers as they are of similar (low) quality, although again, there is a better set in the vRS then in the base model I would have thought (hoped :) )
