Lost interest in Fabby

Featured Replies

Anybody else fed up of taking care of there car for it to be wrecked by bad roads/ potholes?

I say this because last month i had to change my left side drop link (Changed both) becuase it bent when i hit a pothole.

and now yesterday i hit a pothole and it took a gouge out of my tyre (Brand new tyre in november and only done 1500mls) as it was the sidewall that got damaged i now need to get a new tyre, taking time and money away from me that could be used elsewhere!

So now im thinking of getting rid of the fab and getting a old banger 4x4 diesel to run about in!

I understand where you are coming from. I am constantly dodgy pot holes, and generally look after cars. Many people don't do this, and then their car looks quite tatty and nasty.

The latest set of potholes that I have dodged and recently reported were the ones on the M25 lane one just before the Leatherhead junction going clockwise. If I had hit them at 70 (Luckily I dodged them by going partly over the rumble strip) who knows what would have happened really.

I think your statement is more about the state of the roads with the recent snow and ice, which is often the main cause of potholes to come up in the first place, with the water getting underneath, freezing, expanding, then being lifted up by a car going over it.

Last year i popped a 3 week old tyre on a pothole in the town centre.. then 2 months later buckled a wheel on a pothole on the M62!!!

The roads r shocking :(

Im just sick to death of the sh1tty seats

Take pics of the damage and the pothole - keep all receipts and claim against the local council

I wish my fabia only had a broken drop link and battered tyre wrong with it  . Understand what you mean though, Roads are a state right now, I'll be glad of the rental when it arrives :giggle:

yep 100% agree.... my car has just started making a nice knocking noise on pull away and stopping also when any bumps in the road. and yep went over plenty potholes and drove on some sh**ty roads. And this time I am way to lazy to sort it myself. To the garage it goes on friday

if you slowed down a little and took more care you could avoid potholes and lets be fair if you did get an old banger 4x4 it would spend more time on the ramps with new parts in the post than on the road.
