My car at jabba!

Looks good, but why is half of it behind the bumper support bar? Surely that blocks airflow through the i/c and makes it slightly pointless?

Well thats true, but air still gets forced in and up and in thru the grill and down. All i can say is that it makes a difference to performance. Take a look at where the OEM intercooler is and tucked away in a box and half the size! :thumbdwn:

Cool, glad your happy, enjoy the summer now :)

thought they replaced that bar with a smaller one? looks good!

I know the Forge kit comes with a modified bar.

Is the jabba one not made by forge?

The Jabba one is made by ProAlloy :)

i can also vouch for the fmic, i had one fitted a little while ago and i haven't suffered heatsoak once yet :)

i don't seem to have a picture of mine its the same, i just need a new bumper now as i have the standard bumper and it don't fit with this fmic so has the bottom cut out a bit. it still bulges slightly but i do plan on getting a new one. i asked at skoda today and its about

You would be VERY unlikely to notice any difference with cutting the front bumper support bar out on the road anyway. Now the track... that's a different matter!

not trying to argue but why would you notice it on track but not when going hard on the open road?

probably because on the track the car is working harder so needs all the extra cooling it can get. on the road you would be hard pushed to stress the car enough to do this so it wouldnt take full advantage of the extra surface area anyways.

Who's your FMIC by, Dave?

It's a Jabbasport one - same as Ants at the top!

dave, have you had the crash bar removed?

looks like it in the picture, well maybe a modded one

Interesting to note that b4 the FMIC fitted the car suffered from a noticable drop in power! so much in fact i thought that it was f***ked. Since fitted and some intense testing, no more fade and more torque in higher rev range.

So all good and worth the money.

yup as i have said a few times i haven't suffered the slightest bit of heatsoak yet :D

bengie,

Have you noticed any heatsoak yet? :D

It's not completey gone but cut enough to expose 100% of the intercooler core to the outside world :D

Dave are you not worried about stone damage to that IC? Are you planning on fitting any protection in front of it?

Dave your such a tart!

Ouch... even a hegdehog or rabbit could cause a fair bit of damage

Hmmm - when it comes down to looks versus practicality then i'm afraid that practicality looses every time :D

No seriously I have bought some black mesh (same as the grill) to fit when i can:

a) work out how to take the front bumper off

B) be bothered to do it :D

Remove the bumper is quite easy but really requires 2 people....one to hold and one to undo the retaining screws.

I think it's more a case of B).... ;):D
