Off Road Button and Hill Hold Control

Featured Replies

I am currently looking at a used Yeti, 4x4 1.8 SE Plus that has almost everything that I want in a new vehicle except for the Off Road Button and Hill Hold Control - both of which I really want and need as I will be using the vehicle extensively in an area that has some monster inclines and declines on roads which can best be described as "goat tracks", so every bit of technology is helpful.

Does anyone know how complex, difficult, expensive it is to have these options fitted by a dealer rather than factory-fitted?

Thanks

T.

Same question was asked recently and the simple answer is no you cannot retro fit either.

And to be honest holding it is first gear is just as effective downhill off-road.

Thanks for your reply Llanigraham.

I used the "Search" option on the Forum to find the topic. It did return a topic, but as the topic was almost 3 years old (May 2010) I wondered if there had been any change.

In a motoring magazine I read the following with respect to the Yeti....

"...Off Road Button - this is only a software tweak to change the response of the electronically controlled systems and you don't have to specify this upfront as you can get this button retrofitted ......"

That has always been my contention, namely that all the "equipment" needed for the "Off Road Button" already exists on every 4x4 Yeti and that specifying this as an option is nothing more than activating the electronics. Which logically should be able to be done at any time.
