No VRS?

Featured Replies

I have looked at the octy 3 page on the Skoda website and it only mentions 2 petrol and 2 Diesel engines. Neither of these seem To be fore a VRS. Does that mean there won't be one?

there will almost certainly be one,,,,,,the vRS' are always released after the main launch, so it'll come but a few months down the line. And you still aint qualified for the free sticker I offered if you spot me ;)

I know! I live where I work now in Winchester so don't commute. I will keep an eye out on weekends and evenings though.

Being unveiled at Goodwood FOS in July.

somebody obviously missed the octy 3 pages on this forum!!!

My dealer told me june its released

I read around that the vRS will be June / July, not enough time to order & pick one up in time for the new reg in Sept.

WHY do Skoda do that ?

My dealer told me june its released

Same info from my dealer too June - guessing they will release Petrol VRS then Diesel - 178bhp apparently. Hoping also it will be multilink rather than torsion beam,

I cant remember if we are allowed to post links on here but if you google "auto express" "Skoda Octavia vRS leaked pictures". There are some mock ups - It looks amazing, absolutely amazing. guessing around £24k though which will be out of my price range :(

I reckon it will be same engine as new audi with 180ish bhp.

Petrol 220bhp, diesel 184bhp, I posted it several times earlier. It's in ETKA already, from May in Europe, July/Aug UK.

diesel,

is the petrol chain cam still?

TIA

Haven't checked, if you recall the tiny fuel tank :giggle: made me think twice even about the vRS diesel :)

Yes, but the diesel will be belt cam.

I just read somewhere that the petrol engines (1.2, 1.4, 1.8) in the new VAG range are belt cam...........but didn't know if that also applied to the vRS?

The is a comparative test in this week's Auto Express between the new Octavia, the new Golf and the Honda Civic. All has 1.6 TDI engines. The Golf came out on top with the Octavia a close second.

The interesting part is at the end of the article there is a small side piece entitled "Will there be a vRS" The answer is Oh Yes. The company has confirmed a high performance flagship Octavia will arrive later this year, complete with multi-link suspension, sharper looks and the option of two powerful engines, one petrol and one diesel. And next year Skoda will introduce a rugged Scout 4x4 model which should undercut other four-wheel drive estates by some margin.

A Scout with the new 180bhp 1.8L petrol engine and all-season tyres really appeals to me at the moment for some reason........................
