GPS Tracker

Featured Replies

My apologes if this has been covered before, however I am looking at geting a GPS tracking system for my car, as I do nearly 30000 miles per year and need to break all of the journeys down for the taxman/work...which takes me an absolute age every month....and from what I have heard is not accountable to the Taxman.

I am looking at getting something that tracks my location, time and distnace travelled....however it would have to be able to hold the information for about 4 weeks and not just the 8 hours that some of the cameras hold.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks

I recently had a tracker locate fitted on a car. About £240 for the equipment (supplied and fitted by chameleon), and then £170ish/yr subscription to tracker. The subscription also gives you web access to a dashboard set-up where you can view your journeys online, see where your vehicle is at any point in time, and also set-up alerts if your car strays beyond a geo-fence of co-ordinates.

What about a smartphone app? I use Mileage Tracker which backs up to drop box, and can export a csv file. It logs your start and finish time and location from the phone gps although you can manually overwrite some fields.

Which publisher? There's a few on there.

Cheers. I found another one with the same features you described too, just wanted to make sure ;) ;)

How about one of these:

Ignore the fact it's in a group buy. Not enough interest, so price is as is.... thoughts?

If you have an android smartphone with NFC then try an NFC tag to launch this app and use it to fire only when going on a business trip. Save your battery on other occasions. You could put a sticker in your car or have a tag on your key fob.
