EGR Delete, What changes have you noticed?

Featured Replies

I am wondering what improvements etc people have seen by having the egr delete fitted?

It's more a pre maintenance item, so won't cake up internals as much however a bigger intake and egr could lead to a minute power increase due to cleaner air and with with custom map timing tweaked ever so slightly.

So it pretty much does nothing

I did not like the way it made my turbo wistle at idle, so I went back to map with erg.

I didn't delete... but got "turned right down" in VAGCOM... Slightly smoother idle is all I really noticed.

Interesting about the turbo whistle comment... I hadn't put 2 and 2 together on that front, but yeah.. maybe a little bit?

Longer to warm up.

Remember EGR is only used on part throttle. At WOT its not used.

ah so must be like a petrol then and warm up cat, for emissions.

I never noticed the turbo whistle with a egr delete not till I put a decat on then it whistles on tick over

So it doesnt actually make any diffirence at all!

lol id be interested in actually finding out the crack with this like!

I'd fit it for the price it's going to stop it all caking up in there.

Well the benefit is its not putting sooty hot air into the intake, you'd get far less **** in your intake venting the crack case too, there'll be no more oily sludge etc.

You know... People always go one about the sludge.. me included.. but my 1st hand experience is it's just spent oil.. do different to what ya get on the dip stick...

Could this be because I run Ultimate, though? A cleaner burn?
