Hi Guys

My TFSi VRS has started to rev up and down on tickover when hot. It revs up to about 2500 rpm then drops back down to normal then repeats over and over again.

We have scanned it with VCDS and have got the fault code 2279-002 Air Leak 008825

Is there any common parts to look at for the air leak?

ive just had this code and a few others i changed the pcv, all is ok now.

its only 4 tx screws to remove and see if it is knackered, i could see the little valve in mine was rattling about.

Yep, irractic idle is generally caused by a fault PCV

Ok on investigation it looks like it is the pcv valve, Where is the cheapest place to get one. The dealers seem to be clueless about what part I want!!! (probably due to phoning on a Saturday) Even quoted part numbers but they are still not sure!!!

Just need an idea about cost.

well my local dealers have 2 blokes in the parts depo one is useless and the other is great, i gave him the no. and said i think i need the n revision, he double cheecked and thats the one i got.

How long ago was this as I have been quoted £89 plus VAT for the part alone!!!

It is the part number you need mate.
