front grill ?

Featured Replies

ive noticed quite a few have got rid of the chrome grill surround?? have u painted it or is it a aftermarket grill ?

how simple are they to take out and respray if thats wot uve done ?

they can be wrapped or sprayed etc .... dead easy to remove look under the bonnet and the whole grill is held on by 2 L shaped brackets .. remove the 4 torx screws on the grill itself NOT on the bonnet. and the M6 nut holding the bonnet release handle on. Then the whole grill comes away. flip it over and you can see all the chrome clips. just release all the chrome clips and the chrome bit of the grill comes away. they are easily broken behind the badge but thats only 2 of the clips. after sprayed it they just pushes back on and remember to put the bonnet catch lever back on or you may struggle to reopen the bonnet next time lol

Anyone know the size of the chrome surround?

Fancy wrapping it in a matt black vinyl to match the rest of the grill.

its roughly 900mm x 300mm .... Im looking to wrap mine too... Might go for the hexis gloss black B-)

Thanks for that :)

can the skoda badge be replaced on the front grill? my one is rough looking..

sorry for the hijack op

yep just pull the old one off remove old sticky backing from grill .... new badge is around £15 from skoda and does smarten front up a little

any idea of the part number?? could do with new back one too

Got my new front badge from ebay for £9.99. Sprayed my front grille surround, got primer and some black magic paint and lacquer from Halfords. Just sand down the chrome for a key and away you go. Previously had it done with vinyl but was a nightmare.

Im looking to get some made up by pastyboy and think they will look much better then the oem and cheaper!

i prefer genuine ones tbh but thats just my opinion from what ive seen pasty boy badges are good quality and i would recommend them ....

As for badge part no's, i think this is the one that fits front and rear but just double check your car :

Looks so much better :D

What did you use in the end? Plast dip?

Looks nice mate! You'll want to do those bits by the fogs and the number plate plinth to match next :)

I used super satin black plasti kote (just wot i had in the shed) with some clear cote enamel on top.

They look pretty close tbh plus i dont really wanna have to take the bumper off just yet

That looks smart.

What's the colour match like to the actual black section?

  • Author

Id say almost a dead match

Nice one. Think this is next on my list.

you dont have to take bumper off to do the fog bits they just pull off

anndddd looking at the photos under the letter E of your reg the bottom grille is coming loose its held on by tapers and just needs pulling towards the front of the car to clip it back in place
