Just stick to 70mph as you arrive earlier :-)

for 0.3mpg Ioss I would indeed stick to 70 too lol

I have found that good mpg is achievable in the Fabia if cruising speed is such that the RPM stays below 2,000, we have had 40+ on a 170 mile journey. Needless to say we didn't get that coming home and we were there sooner.

Try 67-69mph, gives around 45+ mpg as I found out Saturday doing a heathrow run :)

I had 40.1 on my trip to work this morning (16 miles, between 30 and 70mph). Seems like im an old man and drive too slow lol.

ill not buy one of these then lol

I have found the difference between 55 and 70 is HUGE. Like at 55 I get 70 mpg ish, at 70 it drops to 55-60 mpg. I put it down to the fabia being shaped like a brick :)

Lol I imagine the fabia cuts throught the air like hot knife through dried cement! I did manage to get 45.6 mpg doing a 100 mile journey at 60 so it is achievable if you drive like a corpse :-)

In my 25mile commute its normally high 20's but its a fun 25miles :D

The Fabia shaped like a brick comments #9 is quite funny.

On the twin charger with a run in engine, you can get along quite smartly without the Turbo kicking in and get decent MPG.

70 in the brick can give better economy than sticking at 60, revs just right, road surface etc etc.

Obviously it is easy to give it some and take that down to the low 20's.

george

I managed 24mpg when I went for a run last night lol
