Can anyone help me out with a Numberplate bulb Problem on my Octavia please?

The bulb warning light is on the dash so i took the car to my local Skoda dealer paid for a diagnostics check which came back as a faulty wire connection to that end they couldn't tell me where the fault was and they would have to take each panel off one at a time to find the fault. Has any one else came across this problem or know of a quicker and cheaper option? Thank you

And more specifically, the Octy II section, since I assume this isn't a Mk I Octy...

I would look around the boot hinge area to start with and round lights
