New & looking for help RNS510 Speed Camera Import..

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I am the proud new owner of a Jan '12 Black Greenline II Estate having traded in a Mondeo ST155 Estate. V pleased with the Superb and looking forward to some impressive mpg results..

In the meantime I am desperate for some expert help getting pgpsw speed cams (with alerts) working on the RNS510. I have poured over the various threads and feel like I am in touching distance of success.. I have created a db3 file using the VW POI loader from http://www.volkswage...n-sammlung.html. File is named SpeedCams.db3 saved in the SD root in a folder called PersonalPOI. The db contains 20 "children being the speed zoned POI set downloaded from pgpsw. When I insert the SD card (maps 7690 & firmware 3984, H61, E revision) I get a data loading message but that's as far as I get. SpeedCams do not appear in the POI list and SD card option is greyed out.

Any help to get me up & running would be much appreciated...

Haven't looked at this properly as yet but I think the file needs to be called PersonalPOI.db3 and/or no spaces or non-alphanumeric characters allowed in the filename.

Try renaming the file on your SD card and shove it in the unit again.

That might not solve your problem but worth a try - I know I was able to load up several .csv and .gpx POI lists into one .db3 using the site and then they went onto the Columbus fine from the SD card.

It could also possibly be that you have too many points in the database. Try downloading the National Trust sites POI list - I know that works okay. At least then you can rule out other things.

Hope that helps
