What make of Dump Valve is best?

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

Hoping to pick up a 2002 vRS this weekend. Hope its a good one when i see it.

Pretty bog standard at the moment.

Question i want to ask is what dump valve would you all recomend? HKS? Baileys? Forge?

Looking for one that makes a nice but not cheesy noise if that makes sence?

I had a Baileys on my old Scooby STI but it could have been louder.

What you recomend? Any youtube vid links you may have/known would be good.

Cheers.

  • Jase it doesn't mean its rubbish I could make the same as the forge on my Cnc to the exact same tolerance if not better but wont have forge on it does that make it rubbish ??

  • I got mine off the compbrake ebay ad, try their website Sent from my Galaxy S3, not a Crapple!

  • yup, spot on advice!this is identical to the forge ones, and comp brake ones, its just a milled bit of ally after all as clive said.It works as well as the forge or compbrake without the name..

You need to use a recirculating type valve otherwise you will have running issues or possibly the engine management light will come on, forge make a really nice hybrid one that recircs and also does the pssst sound to atmosphere but they are the wrong side of £180.

Honestly? Crazy.

How do you get round the running issues etc?

There must be a way though surely? Seen and heard plenty vRS's with rec DVs and not heard them talk about running issues?

Recirc? Thats the correct type.

Yes honest... It's to do with metered air that has passed the maf being purged to atmosphere, it confuses the ecu and makes it run rough.

Re-map sort this out?

No!

Induction kit of somesorts and a forge 007p

A cold air intake and a Forge 007p is as loud as a dumpalve if that's what you are looking for.

Agree the cai but disagree with the forge 007p being the best, a few of us run the compbrake one and apart from being loads cheaper than the forge, it's just as good

ive just fitted a forge 008 diverter valve to my vrs with ebay cai and revo stage one and its loud, im even thinking about putting the std air box back on to make it quiter, its the newer and improved version of the 007 it cost £125 on ebay, you get different springs so when you re-map your car you can fit a harder spring for more boost like i have, the forge 007 is good i had one on my old vrs and had two on my audi rs4 you can pick them up on ebay second hand quite cheap and they are fully serviceable and you can upgrade the springs when you re-map the engine.

my advice would be

1 ebay cai £40 this will make the std dv loud the fillters are not the best tho

2 upgrade the filter on the cai to k&n or green

3 if you are going re-map your engine the std dv will prob fail at some point with higher boost and old age i would get a forge 007 or 008 dv ive always used them forge give good after sales service imop

4 then re-map should make around the 200-210 bhp stage one

Compbrake are cheap rip-off replicas of the forge valve

Ive had both forge 007p and ive got the compbrake one on now and theres no difference in the build or quality in my opion . Half the price for really the same thing .

There is second hand forge 007s on ebay now all around £35 thats a bargin £100+ new.

I have a jabba induction kit on my vrs with standard valve and it sounds louder than my volvo did with a bailey valve on it, altho my vrs is running alot more boost than my volvo did

The ones I posted in the link work fine for £35. Or stick to standard, which also works fine.

As it happens I'm glad this thread is here, I was thinking about buying a forge valve for my felicia, but based on price I think I'll give the compbrake one a look.
