MFSW fault, need help as dealer say they cant see anything :(

Featured Replies

I've been having a problem with my 2009 FL Octy VRS DSG, sometimes the MFSW just stops working, no radio, maxidot or DSG padles. Then if you wait a min or two, it will come back again. Normally once the car is fully warmed up, it stops doing it.

Driving me crazy as it's been into Benfield Skoda twice, before warantee ran out and they said they cant find anything.

I even asked if they have read fault codes which they said they had and found nothing......funny as I have VCDS and I get the faults below

Any advice guys, either on the fault or how to get what I need from Benfield?

did you show them the scan?

Could be the loom or a fault with the buttons

You can check in the MVB while the car is cold to see what functions work

The aux-in fault is due to leaving the Extension cable in the socket when nothing is connected

Hi,

Thanks for the point on the radio fault, I was wondering if it was something to do with that but from looking at the internet, I sounds a lot like the slip (clock) ring is faulty and causing an intermittent connection fault. Might also explain why it is effected by temprature?

My first thought on reading your post was the slip ring, does problem seem to manifest at a particular steering angle?

It was the "clock spring" apparently a common fault at around the 50K mark,, all fixed! Glad I mentioned it when the car was still under warrantee :)
