Rain water on side windows

Recommended Posts

The Heko ones are easy to fit dont know about the ones linked. Personally I think they improve the looks on a car with a black roof

As for rain x on the side windows any decent wax or sealant will do but stick to the specialist stuff for the windscreen, dont forget to do the mirrors as well . I use the Carlack products on my windscreen, i prefer them to Rain x

Personally its never been an issue for me I fitted the wind deflectors to stop the rain blowing in the car with the window cracked open

Thanks for all you comments ..i do understand Skoda is not going to redesign the car . What i do not like is dealers/Skoda saying never heard of the complaint when clearly it is an issue by some of the comments of posts on this site, some may choice to accept it and i too may have to put up with it . .It is annoying and was just looking for a solution to a problen to an otherwise nice wee car perhaps the wind deflector would solve it .Waiting for Skoda to get back with an answer to my enquiry .

Will certainly be interested to hear the response from SUK, so keep us updated.

The dealers will probably be quite right in stating that they've not had any complaints about it - yes I agree it's a problem and an issue for some people, for others it won't be and IMO not something I'm likely to complain to the manufacturer about.

I don't like the trackpad on my laptop because when I use it out the docking station I catch the trackpad whilst typing. Yes it's an issue but I'mnot going to complain to HP about it, I take it that it's part of the design, they are unlikely to do anything about it, are they?

I just had to comment ref water and squeaky wipers. I have a friend who used to get hold of bottles of the silicon used in commercial copiers. He used to recommend wiping the glass from time to time with a splash of copy fluid.

I started to add a big thimblefuls worth to the washer bottle, with water and wash fluid. It is amazing. the water just vanishes.The wipers are silent for hours of non washing. Just add the odd splash of fluid from time to time. The side windows i wipe about twice a year with a splash of fluid on a rag.

Search around your copiers and nick a bottle of silicon!

Richf, that's a nice looking car you have there. Could you point us in the right direction as to acquiring a set of the deflectors you mention. Thank you.

EDIT.....Just had a quick look on Ebay and Amazon for the deflectors, Both sites have them listed however something that bothers me is this;

Note: These are not suitable with vehicle that have any sort of automatic window openings i.e. if obstructed.

Does that mean that because my car has front and rear electric windows with anti pinch function that I will be unable to fit wind deflectors?
