front pad renewal

Featured Replies

I'm considering new front pads to be fitted by local specialists Better Brakes, Portslade, just down the road from me.

(Getting too old and weary to mess around with them myself these days !!)

My MOT last November said they were okay but about three-quarters worn at that time.

For a 58 1.8 TSi hatch, what should I expect to pay as a reasonable price? (Haven't asked them for a quote yet till I hear from you guys.)

You can get Pagid pads from ECP for £20...ish using briskoda discount code and get them to fit, approx an hours labour £40?

£60 all in?

It was damn near impossible to get them to wear out on my old VRS - 60k on the clock, plenty of 'spirited' driving and they still had loads left according to the MOT tester.......

For this reason (and given that they performed well too) I'm tempted to stick with the OEM ones if my new VRS shows the same traits
