Please can anyone help?

I have a Fabia Monte Carlo with only 1000 miles on the clock. It has been driving like a dream until last Monday! It suddenly lost all power when driving at normal speed on an A road. There were no warning lights and nothing in particular seemed to trigger it i.e I wasn't doing the same thing each time such as braking, slowing down or accelerating. It happened four times in the space of a 15mile journey.

I called out a Skoda Technician who couldn't find any fault listed on the diagnostics and advised me to drive it to see if it happened again...I did! I drove it straight to the garage! It cut out again en-route twice more. The garage still can't find the fault. They have also taken it out but typically the car hasn't lost power when they drove it!

What could have gone wrong that the diagnostic test didn't pick up? Should I insist the garage find the fault, even though they seem to be struggling at the moment? Has anyone else has this problem? Am I going mad?

Take it back and insist on they keep it until they find the problem. It is a safety issue! They will give you an equivalent courtesy car in the meantime. Skoda UK give good back up if you do the right thing in a reasonable manner.
