This will be the vacuum box not the egr valve ;)

Pm "devontopia" he had one for sale not sure if he still has it..

If u have a faulty egr valve i have 1 in the for sale section for £30 but from your description sounds like the buzz/humm/mooing noise when u turn the car off which points to the vacuum box (top left of engine bay as u look at it with loads of vacuum pipes coming out ;))

firstly lol apologise for the sloppy tiltle youve got to love the iphone, secondly does im a novice show that bad .ha ha :) and yer its the silver circle thing just above the turbo been told i can get agr vavle?? to bypass it if i did this would it affect its realabilty ? i take it you dont actually need an EGR valve as it just chucks dirty air back threw it the system .:S

removing the egr valve would put the engine management light on and probs wouldnt really benefit you without a remap....

does it need fixing urgently ?

U only have to map an egr delete on the later mk1 vrs with blt engine not the earlier with asz engine..

I would be making sure it was def. The egr valve 1st..

U could replace it with another egr valve (which i have £30 give me a pm ;))...

... or u can replace it with an egr delete + block off the egr vacuum pipes
