superb estate facelift

Featured Replies

Me no likey!

So lame.....blaahhhh :wonder:

I actually like the new badge and grill, plus the DRL’s in the headlight look better IMO, that said I prefer the shape of the current headlights.

That is still heavily camouflaged ...old badge and chrome ..all the other pics of the hatch are the same

Clear spy images and more details of the 2014 Skoda Superb Facelift

i dont think this looks better than the present superb what do we think.

I think from one of the side profiles it looks more like the Octy, but I must say I compare the pictures with the one at the bottom of your signature I think yours looks nicer. But then again mine looks pretty much similar. I understand Skoda have to keep up to date but their dillema is why fix something thats not really broken.

Maybe nothing is broken, but things and models change, very few want to buy some car that has been the same for years and years. It gets god damn boring.....

maybe it will have a v6 diesel under the bonnet putting out 300 bhp with 500 pounds of torque??

I see the biggest problem with the current line-up being the efficiency of the engines. Even at the introduction of the estate they were already at least a generation behind the Passat and had the CO2 emissions to reflect that.

My 140CR DSG estate is a company car and it is due replacement in December 2013. If I moved away from the Superb down to the new 3rd generation Octavia I can save myself upwards of £1,500/year in payable income tax. In doing so I would hardly be slumming it as that would be a top spec 150CR DSG car. CO2 emissions drop from 150g/km to 119g/km.

I am sure I am not going to be the only company car driver doing similar.

Best regards

I think we will see the rollout of more efficient "green tec" as standard, and I'd guess that the interior changes will basically be the new head units from the new Octavia?

Those pictures are from clear, they are heavily disguised in fact. The rear of the hatchback has been discussed in a recent thread, and it will look nothing like that picture in reality. The front will look more like an Octavia than these obviously disguised images.

I don't think you will see these in the Superb until it goes through a full model change (2015?). From the information I could see on the new head-units they are made by Pioneer (Continental make the current generation) and are tied to the MQB platform.

Best regards

The present Amundsen+ is made by Technisat, not Continental.

With all the testing that their doing I think its a safe bet that they are possibly fitting the new VW engines into the revamped model. For example 170bhp diesel to 184bhp diesel etc.

I'm no longer UK based, so I can't comment on UK company car taxation but im sure that they'll take it into consideration. Where I am engine size doesn't really play a huge difference if your picking between the Diesel engines.

One thing I'm certain about is that in India the superb is loosing market share to the Accord by Honda / new Toyota Camry and the new Passat. In saloon guise I'm confident that India is one of Skoda's core target markets. I showed a picture of my Superb combi to an Indian friend and he was very impressed at the combi form which is generally not very known in India. Curiously he was impressed I was driving a skoda but I did learn that Skoda's reputation in India isn't as strong as it is in Europe. Side comment: it's relatively unknown here in SA (where I am) and they all seem to think it looks like a BMW.

It is more safe to bet that it will be 170bhp diesel to 177bhp diesel. As this has happened recently to Alhambra, Tiguan and Passat.

Also it has been confirmed recently, that this most powerful diesel will be available with 4x4 and DSG combination. I hope option for manual 4x4 remains.
