CR170 manufacturing fault

Featured Replies

My 13000 mile wagon back from a minor oil leak investigation at the local main dealer (Arbury in Leamington Spa). Symptom was two small oil spots on the drive about 18 inches apart towards the front of the engine bay. After 3 hours, tracked to clips either side of the intercooler on the oil pipework that had never been factory fully tightened. Cannot fault the Dealer's service and persistence.

Might be worth getting yours checked/checking them yourself. Could be catastrophic if the flexibles came off.

Could you by any chance share a photograph of those clips, and maybe description how to locate them?

Sorry, but is it an oil cooler, or the intercooler? The intercooler has air in it, sometimes with a bit of oil of course.

Pass on both the above: merely passing on what I was told at the dealership. FWIW, all the HXs appear to be located up front near the coolant radiator

What year was your car manufactured? Just out of interest.
