ABS/ASR lights come on and off when they please!

Featured Replies

hey all,

after scanning my beloved fabia with vcds lite i found my reason for why i had my ABS ASR warning light always on.(front left abs sensor) so i recently changed my front left ABS sensor clearing the warning lights for all of 2days,

now i have both asr and abs lights coming back on when im driving but sometimes theyl automatically go off?

does anyone have any ideas?

cheers alex

It makes me think of a loose connection somewhere. You should have fault codes pointing to one corner if so.

Did you clean both the ABS relucter rings with a cotton bud dipped in Meths ?

These could have been the fault in the first place.

sorry to just get back in touch i ended up just buying a cheep VAG lead from ebay (cost of £7) so used that with vcds lite.. are the reluctor rings the one which the nut goes through to tighten up..?

driving home from work tonight the lights gone off and stayed off even when driving and breaking at over 50mph :/

The relucter rings can be seen when you put the full lock on, they are at the back of the hub unit, they are what the sensors look at, they will look nice & shiny, jack up the car and turn the wheel/hub and clean as previously mentioned.
