Coilovers or shocks and springs?

Featured Replies

How well do these last? Do they more expensive ones last longer? Could be where the extra cost comes from. . . (dunno what the average life for a cheap set is, or how long you plan to keep the car, so it might not be a concern though!)

exactly my point mate! im struggling to find a difference in these compaired to the higher end coilovers on the market costing £500+?? if these are smooth comfy, absorbant is the main one not rock hard stiff, but handle like coiliovers should ie no body roll round corners etc then ill have to have a word with good old damien and buy me a kit!...

I'm happy with the ride and I'm surprised at how well it is. If you want to have a drive of mine let me know and we will sort out a meet. For the money I'm very impressed

I yhink the main things on these are the adjusters sieze because of the metal of the shock but I've covered mine in copper grease so hopefully won't. I'd of thought they would last a good few years they look good build quality but only time will tell. If they only last 1/2 as long as a £500 set and you buy another set its still cheaper

I have weitec springs an shocks. 30 mm drop and they don't feel much different from standerd. Very nice. And springs are green too lol

Unless you keep the car for more than twice their life span ;)

I've heard quite good things about JOM on the BMW forums compared to the other cheap sets like TA-Tecnix etc so I'd imagine they'll be ok. *looks for fingers crossed smiley*

To be fair I can't see some £500+ coilovers lasting longer than 2 sets of JOMs and even if you bought 3 sets that's only £540 spread over however long they last as apposed to all in 1 go. I'd buy again and recommend them
