D2S Bulbs

Featured Replies

As many people have done on the site, I'm currently retro fitting a set of Projector headlights bought off WingMirrorMan/Woman.

I've found a place to buy my adapter leads from but I'm unsure about which bulbs to go for, just wondering which one's others have used when they have fitted their own unit's as I've seen some ranging from £30-£90+ each.

Ideally I'm after some 5k one's I should think.

5k is a good colour. I've got some Morimotos in mine which seem pretty decent. Got some cheap ones in my Polo (for the MOT) and they keep failing to ignite.

I can't tell from your post, but you're aware you need ballasts right? (Not sure if you're trying to find an adapter from H7 to D2S, which won't work)

I've already got a HID fitted to the car so going to use the current ballast's and use a lead to suit the D2S bulb's as many other's have on the site.

It's just that I recall reading some people had issue's with certain bulbs and wasn't happy with the light output from them so was trying to gather opinions on bulbs and if it's better to pay out more for some.

Ah sorry, I completely forgot there were the different different styles of connectors! I've got the AMP ones on my Polo, so should have remembered!

Speaking from experience, I'd rather spend a bit more on a bulb.

These are what I've got in the BMW now, just with a different connector. Pretty pleased with them.

I've been trying to look online at what Bulbs Halfords do so I can use my trade card and get a discount on them, but they don't really show that many and no real description of the make etc of them.

5k all the way, I ordered 5k but got sent 6k, they're too blue for my liking. Wanted a little more subtle personally.

Found some ring Automotive bulb's for around £25 a piece, can live with that, used Ring in the past and fairly happy with them. Used Ultra Bulb's lately and was happy with them and would of used them, but they only offer a 6k bulb and don't fancy that.
