Hi guys. I need to replace the coolant temperature sensor on my fab. I have the part I just can't find where it goes :( :( If any1 knows where it is please let me know so I can change it ASAP as I got a 16502 fault code for the 1st Time as well. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated

according to the haynes manual it is located at the back of the thermostat housing which is on the right hand side of the engine (as you look at it).

It states remove engine cover,locate thermostat housing, unplug wiring connector, pull clip from thermal switch and then pull switch from housing recovering the O-ring.

Refitting is a reversal of removal BUT a NEW o-ring must be used

Thanks very much holmesie. I've red the 1st one over and over but I just couldn't find the dam thing on my engine lol. Looking at the vow one it does look quite like the place I have circled. Really like to do this myself. It is, it there's really no space to work lol.

hi Dankham hope u got that prob sorted, just wanted to say hi from another briskodian in N.ireland... ps if theres no room to work in the engine bay get a child with small hands to do it ..a packet of tayto cheese and onion shud be a bribe for them ..

No dude still the same I haven't had a chance. If a child can do it I'd cry my eyes out. I haven't a clue where to start even though I've been told exactly what to do lol.

Helps if you take the airbox out, between base of airbox and your engine, follow the loom to the two pin sensor. Then follow above instructions for removal. Hope this helps. I've found it's not so much the sensors that go but the connections. Try waggling it about, if it makes a difference, clean it with wd40.... Hope this helps.

I've done it on a different engine but similar placement. I had to take the air intake pipe off and that made enough room. I was then a berk and didn't realise the sensor rotated so it took me ages to try and unclip it (clip was towards the engine).

And SWMBO's hands often end up in the engine bay to remove/fit things here too

Thanks for the advise guys up for mot tomorrow fingers crossed. Prob try it the day after. I'll give yas an update. I'm hopin this is the right thing lol that would be just my luck

Much easier to remove sensor and then unclip from wiring.
