1.9 TDi - Remaps - What is your experience

Featured Replies

Hi

Was looking into the above and wanted to know others experiences, have searched for it but only info on 4x4's and different engines etc.

The mapping I am looking at (from Jabba) takes me from 105 BHP to 140/5 BHP and more torque from 184 ld.ft to 250/260. By my reckoning this puts me into the PD140 output territory?

Also have heard the engine responds well and as this is a stock remap then the clutch is more than up for taking it?

Let me know what you think?

Cheers

Yeap that would be stock 2.0 territory (140/236 respectively)

I run a Shark remap on my Roomster PD105 with a PD160 intake, K&N panel filter & a Piper turbo back exhaust.

The butt dyno says it's putting out +/-150bhp

I had a 105 and remapped it went to 153bhp and went very well

Hi

Thanks for that

Does it really feel like a different car?

I'm also interested in a remap for my pd105, if driving correctly, would I gain better mpg?

yes, i had a pd105 in my 56 plate caddy, got Custom Code to remap it it made 156hp and 240ftlb of torque and could easily get 540 miles to a tank of fuel and was running 300kg constantly with equipment.

Loved that van wish i had kept it now.

Caddy's are great vans, some right stunning vans kicking about just now. Wanted a caddy maxi 7 Seater as a new taxi. But they where double the price of the octy

I think I just need a bit more power low end, especially if I got a few customers that hold a bit of weight..... I'm not skinny neither which dosent help, 5 people in the car, your looking at 50/70 STONE lol! Then your cases in the boot if your doing airport runs lol

 Certainly a noticeable (good) difference on the Roomster. Coming from a 200bhp Mk1 Fabia the PD105 always felt really 'strangled'. The remap gives it plenty more mid range grunt, about 10mph on the top end and it doesn't run out of puff quite so quickly

Is there anyone in your area that could take you for a spin in a mapped example? Or pop along to a meet and have a passenger ride?

I don't see why not, you'll use a drop or two more fuel getting to cruising speed (you will use the loud pedal with a remap, it's almost law :giggle:) but you'll get upto cruising speed more quickly.

Totally different car after the remap.....when I sold it it went the other way when I took the remap off..it felt awful
