Hi Folks,

I'm a new member, currently based out of New Delhi, India. I was looking for advice on ECU Remaps for my 2012 Octavia 2 1.8TSI. (called the Laura VRS but has the 1.8TSI instead of the 2.0TSI)

I used to be in the US earlier so am no strangers to the turbo cars scene having owned Evos and STi and having significantly and safely modded them.

The Octavia VRS is the only proper sports tuning car available in India right now. I've been mostly around Japanese cars and this is my first VAG car, so am more or less a 'newbie' on these engine and performance potentials.

Recently did a track day at Budd International Circuit (F1 Track) and figured out I needed a little bit more power to be a bit more competitive.

I've currently a Milltek non resonated Cat back on the car, and was looking for a Stage 1 Remap. Not much options here in India, only petes.in who does reflashes (pretty good) but they are OTS maps. I'd rather have something a little more custom to my car/mods.

I've gone thru the forum and so far what I can figure is Shark Performance's STS stands highly recommended by you folks. Got a few questions on how their STS works.

1. Do they build the map based on the map you submit to them?

2. Do the map I extract using the STS have the learned/modified ECU tables from the 'learning' my ECU has gone thru since I've been driving the car or does it only have the stock base values?

3. Any other issues, recommendations on this?

4. Am I missing any other Tuners or should I go blindly with Shark?

Had a chat with CC reps in India. CC Maps available here seem to be peaky, and my requirement is for a flatter powerband, primarily for Track use with high octane fuel. Didnt get a clear understanding if custom maps would be available.

Had a chat with Ben @ Shark, and he seemed very interested in entering the Indian Market and am very keen to see them here as well. Right now we only have CC and some healthy competition would improve the support, variety of products and expand the market even more.
