Your first stone chip is always the worst

Featured Replies

Today I discovered this stone chip whilst washing the car, it looks pretty bad but I just have a couple of questions to ask:

Would a company like Chips Away even consider fixing this as it's only one chip?

Are the a recomended company to use?

I have Guard X on the car so does this now mean the sealant is now compromised and would it need retreating or is just using the supplied renovator acceptable?

thanks in advance.

I feel your pain. It's a tiny chip but now that you know it's there it'll catch your eye every time you walk past it!

I cant see why chips away wouldn't do it. They're a business and your money is as good as anyone elses.

It's doing my head in already. I need to get it sorted as I really do hate that kind of thing. I did a search before I posted and I read a few posts stating that some people had trouble getting a company out as the damage was so small.

Should I be concerned as the paint work is no longer sealed tho?

All you need is a touch up pen and a dab of wax after its cured

Could be a lot worse...My last car, a Honda Civic Type S, had 200 stone chips

No sealant in the world will protect against them

I have a small scratch on the Fabia, it is race blue metallic, I got a mobile paint repair man out and he refused to do it, claiming that the side of the car would need to be re sprayed as he wouldn't be able to match the paint in.

I got a paint pen off Skoda but used a cocktail stick to fill the scratch in, very small amounts of paint and then a wax, I know it is there but looks better than it did.
