Pd160 intake worth it?

Featured Replies

As the title says, is it worth the money? My car is getting remapped on the 23rd and I'm wanting to get anything on it that will increase the performance of the engine before it goes in to be remapped, getting a custom 2.5" straight through exhaust made at the weekend and was thinking about a K&N panel filter as well, any suggestions ?

Leave stock and just go for the remap. Turbo is the bottleneck nothing else.

Probs not. I have one fitted, and also have a K&N panel and I can't really tell any difference.

I don't think I noticed anything. People say a little less smoke. Mine was an impulse but as it was only £30!

Have to agree or buy a much more powerful engined car.

Be mice to see back to back rolling road reports with the 130 and 160 intakes, my bet is there's next to no difference in a real world situation, but R R reports may say different :S

Simpler would be to use VCDS to log group 3 at WOT to see if theirs any difference with the amount of air passing through the MAF sensor.

Ill speak to big fish who are mapping it and see if they will do the before and after with the 130 and the 160 intake as I'm going to get it rolling roads to see the gains anyways and will keep you posted about the results

or that :) sure my 130 intakes in the shed some where, if so I'll do a back to back comparison

I have a piece of £4 hose which is bigger than the PD160, I cannot believe the effort and money that people pay to have the PD 160 pipe!

Something along the lines of this is sound.

Because people (speaking from my own experience) like it to look OEM. And that universal part you linked looks like the kind of thing one would find on a Saxo.

Looks better Joe, but still way short of the genuine artical.

Sure I have seen a similar thread.

I agree with matt, I like the fact it looks stock. I paid £30 too so was a decent deal

If i could pick one up for £30 i would fit one as they do look better but no way am i paying full price.

Yea my thoughts exactly. I paid £60 for mine which I thought was a fair price.

This thread actually gives details on the standard pipes restriction.

However don't believe the fueling side of the article as the it will only decrease fueling if airflow through the MAF is reduced.

I did :)

But I had one on my Fabia.
