I came on here this morning to read philhoward, had lost the engine in his vRS, so another one bites the dust, and am struggling with the fact mine runs out of warrenty in september... but after reading someone just ordered a new one (estate, and I prefere the estate) for circa £15k.... I thought I'd investigate...

rang up my finanace company to see how much i still owe... hmmm i thought, the dealer probably wont offer me that in part -ex... and did a quote on drive the deal for a black estate with black wheels ect (the spec I want) and it came out at £15,072....

I doubted my dealer would give me what I wanted... a £15k price, and paying off my finance on my old car in full, so i start from scratch again... , but thought, what the hell, I'll go in and see what figures they offer me....

wow. just put a £200 deposit, on a new order fabia II vRS estate in black with black alloys...

they got within £200 of drive the deals price (with the waxoil paint seal thing in the deal) AND free dual brake so they ticked that box... then they offered me £7800 for my car, which was about £800 short of paying it off....

nope i said.. I don't want to carry ANY debt from my old car.... hang on they said.... (went away for 5 mins) ok, we'll pay all of your old car off if you order today (£800 up at this point)

OK! deal done. Bargin me thinks

especially as my monthly payments will be exactly the same as if I kept my old car and added an extended warrenty

I know.. seems a shame I bought those wheels now, BUT I still need 2 sets if I'm to have a set with winters on....

edit: it will have the new engine, thats part of the point, the CTHE hasn't had any issues yet (fingers crossed)

Sounds like a good deal. Peace of mind is worth quite a bit.

I'm thinking new fabia next year (2014) and vRS a year after, then the following year I will be back at 3 years old and able to change , so they will have been out about a year so maybe some VAT type offer?! lol.. long time speculation I know

Congrats on the new order! Trading in one car for the same one but newer isn't something I've done before but can see the attraction if the payments are the same and you haven't had to chuck in too big a deposit again.

You got me thinking now... I'm in the same position as you with the warranty running out. What extras did you spec up on the new one? I've got parking sensors, bluetooth, cruise and climate and i don't really wana go without any of them. Duno how much these options r.

The estate loses none of the fun, if anything it adds more being an estate and people aren't ready for one to whizz by them!
