Well no Modding lasted long!

Featured Replies

Hello fellow Briskodians.

After 18 months on happy motoring in my glorious VRS, I got my first MOD fitted yesterday.....

I bought a very tidy 07 registered VRS from a dealer late 2011...... 55,000 miles 1 gentleman owner from new. excellent condition and got a really good deal.

Mega Happy. The car was completly standard and apart from a few car tattoos I wanted to keep her standard.

Just after New Year I started developing intermitten problems with my fronts brakes sticking, I got them checked out and cleaned in the hope that would solve the issue, but the problem returned.... to the point where on the motorway it sounded like I had a lathe in the front of the car milling someting!

My well trusted Indie garage suggested i look at replacing the offending caliper, now after plenty of stalking on here :giggle:

I know that the standard brakes are pants, so I though right, 18 months of a standard car is long enough. Big brake time!!!!

After a little search on eBay I found an online shop that sold recon 312mm brake setup kits with everything you need.

At this point I just want to say a massive thank you to Dave at Gb automotive, I cannot reccomend him enough. He organised a 24 hour courier to get the brakes to my garage so they could be fitted yesterday. Top bloke and helped me out massivley! I believe he has joined Brisky under the name ttdaveb .

Picked my car up yesterday afterwork....... wow. The brakes look brand new, in Skoda green ofcourse ;-) mega mega happy with them.

Everytime I press the pedal they feel even better.

So yeah, first propper big boy upgrade done, and thank you to Dave at gbautomotive and my ace local indie garage I now how a car that stops propperly and looks pretty mean in the brake dept too!

Definatley have the MOD bug now. would only be fair to get a remap now........ oh and some spiders too?? while i'm at it I may aswell get a LCR splitter, oh and those decats sound good

DAM YOU BRISKODA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once the mod bug bites, it's hard to shake!! :D

Though took me about 7 years before i was bitten. ;)

Next will be a map...then poss a little lower on ride height......endless possibilities!

How ya finding them over standard?

Great little mod IMHO and a fair few of us have used that eBay seller, as you say, top bloke and helped me no-end also  didn't realise he joined Briskoda though!

Same for me, I got my brake set up from him. Top bloke and a massive improvement over the standard brakes.

Trouble is with modding, once you start you just get carried away and on here with all the ideas everyone has its hard not to want to follow some of them!

Well even though they are still bedding in, they feel great! Can already feel the extra power.

Looking forward to giving them a propper work out after they have done another 100 miles or so

They just look mean!

Remap next month..... Oh god so it begins.

They do have a nice bite.

Haha good start to modding brakes and map tho. Where ya having map done?

Sent from my GT-N7000

The 312mm setup is very good and looks great. :)

Very good mod and I purchased from the same seller he's decent!

^^^ Ditto.
