Internet Explorer problem...

Featured Replies

Recently had trouble with the msole32.exe virus on my XP home computer, managed to get rid of all the offending files, but now when I try to connect to t'internet i get an error mesage, the broadband server connection is up and running okay, but when I try to access a website it won't work. I thought it might be TCP/IP problem, but tried re-installing protocol and same problem is still there, also tried re-installing Internet Explorer itself, and also deleting cookies and offline content. Anyone got any ideas?

You could try and Ping a web address to prove the connection and TCP/IP stack.

From the command-line "ping www.microsoft.com" without the quotes.

Just checked your occupation - you've probably tried the above already! Can you connect with any other clients? Mail, IM etc

Bad choice of domain - I get 'Request timed out' for MS, try www.briskoda.net

I have a bad bout of this little beast too, along with some other nasties..

have a look here... it's not an easy task
