Hi guys got a dragon tuning box back from a friend of mine and put it on tonight. Very good power increase but takes a while to get used to how to put the power down ie throttle control.

Just a question ive got is tuning boxes dont effect the boost do they? simply just the fuelling? The only reason i ask is ive got a very very quiet siren like sound at around 1100rpm on the overrun. Its very quiet that i can only hear it with drivers side window down and the radio off ive read about things on numerous sites and it seems like the pd130 turbos are usually pretty noisy anyway :p but it seems it only really causes issues on spooling up through the rev range and if its much louder?

Im on 111000 miles at the moment so its probably a sign of age but any input would be great

Get it off and get a remap

Mine makes a noise but still going strong touch wood! Not as many miles as you though

Mine seems to make siren noise when first started and driving for the first 1-2 miles on a cold morning. But disappears when it's warm.

Haha i knew someone would say that. It was free so thought id give it a whirl lol although im sure it has nothing to do with the turbo it just controls the fuelling. Im probably just being paranoid like my missus said haha

It in directly increases boost. The increase in fueling increase power. Increase in power means more exhaust gases, more exhaust gases to go through the turbine causing more boost.

If you have access to VCDS log group 11 at WOT from 1500rpm to redline.

Ok i see..i did wonder but wasnt sure. Im assuming its not going to be running as much boost as a remapped fabia would as its not as 'tuned'. I just wonder whether running this box may push the turbo past its limits or is that unlikely?

Without logging group 11 in VCDS it's hard to say. Would be interesting to see.

I e seen logs of someone who fitted one to a remapped car. Boost went silly.
