First paint issue...

Featured Replies

Well it's been a while since I posted but I'm still

Browsing the site.

Since we've had a little bit nice weather I thought i'de clean the car... Then... RUST!! Both my wings have failed on me over the winter :( both have paint blisters and the orange rust stain colours... Never noticed them until today :/

My cars a 2007 seat Ibiza fr with 76k on, very disappointed!

if they havnt been painted before, go back to seat, i mate of mine just had his 06 golf done under the anti corrosion warranty..

All that salt on the roads over Christmas. Not cleaning any car enough over the winter period in this country will cause rust. Happened to my Mazda sport when i did not wash it for two weeks one winter. Rear arches rusted. I know the weather has been freezing but we still need to get all that salt off our cars or it will corrode.

In the winter I often used to visit the jet wash down the local garage, granted it wasn't a proper wash but the power wash we enough to remove the salt and soggy mud etc from the arches.

I'm guilty of neglect :( been working pretty much from 8:30 an till 7:00 pm all winter and can't see the shifts changing anytime soon.

Half thinking about getting a nice Fabia SDI as a work run about rather than using my nice sporty car and getting it wrecked...

But thats a mazda m8 ;) those things rust for fun :D

VAG cars post 1999 shouldnt have any rust on them for at least 10 years.. VW + audi VERY rarely get any rust unless they have been repaired..

Seat come with thinner paint (less coats of paint) because of there "sporting pedigree".. and are renowned for easily stone chipping etc..

My 51 fabia has no rust anywhere and the body has done many miles.. still original paint (for now :) )
