MG6-GT: Anyone seen?

Featured Replies

Been having a look at the tests and the MG website and the Diesel with 150bhp and 350 nmof torque looks good when compared to the competition. Not even seen one on the road though :/

Seen a few MG6s, not sure on having seen a GT though. Looks 260 lb/ft from a 1.6 seems pretty decent though!

They always remind me of a cross between a Mazda 6 and the Astra!

I have only ever seen a couple of MG's .

I didn't know that they were now doing diesel versions.

Must say though that having driven an MG6 they're not bad cars. I think they would have sold a lot better if they'd been more keenly priced.

Ive seen one :)

One lives in whitby, they are a good looking car on the outside

Biggest problem for MG is lack of dealers and truly horrific depreciation. Even on their website secondhand 12 month old used approved cars are being sold for 50% of their original price, so your 20K car will be worth less than 10K in 12 months.

I thought they were either 1.9 or 2 litre diesels. If its a 1.6 then thats bordering on amazing! :) I like the look of them and just simply because its a bit of a left field choice. :)

Had a little look round a MG6 at a dealers, not the diesel one though

to be blunt - horrid car

Cheap badly fitting plastic bits all over it, looks like old Proton build quality

I thought they looked good inside and out though I've not driven one yet.

One drawback is the fuel economy - 139g CO2 and 53.4 MPG isn't brilliant these days.

The depreciation isn't quite as bad as has been made out either. Some of the £10k cars on their website are 11 plate ones, so almost two years old now, and are the base spec that would have been £16k new.

Oh, and it is a 1.9.

From the website:

"Be the envy of all your family, friends and colleagues in the sporty 1.9 DTi-Tech Diesel MG6."

Seems to be a few bits missing:

"Be the envy of all your family, friends, and colleagues in the sporty 1.9 DTi-Tech Diesel MG6......drive a Citygo."

.......fixed that. ;)

Must be unsafe at speed as they are limited to 120mph which is strange

:D :D

Had to read it twice though.

Only ever seen an MG6, passed me a few weeks back and had to chase after it to find out what it was. Was a bit disappointed when I found out it was an MG!

I saw about a dozen MGs gathering dust in a corner of Alexandria docks in january.

They looked as if they'd been abandoned.

Tis a 1.9, my bad! It was late in my defense, and the number 6 is plastered all over the site ;)

There's a blue one seen in the wild in this photo taken when my Polo broke down:

Looks like one of those Spy Shots  . Was you too embarassed to get a close up?

Ha, the shame of being caught near one was too great to bare! :p

But no, it was summer and I'd just pushed the car into the car park off the main road and was really, really hot, so hid in the shade (plus I burn easily)!
