what is my octy vrs worth?

Featured Replies

Hi i was looking at getting a smaller car and thinking of selling my vrs

its 2006 in Black magic

2.0 tfsi has done 132k car drives superb for the mileage

had dual climate , jumbo box, vrs interior,

cruise control, vcds added features,

hid lights,

car does have kenwood stereo vw approved one , which has the oem look , built garmin satnav and lots of features

With that higher than usual spec you should probably aim for £6500 but expect to sell it for £6000.

I nearly bought a 2006 tfsi with 55K on the clock for £5500 a year ago, albeit it only had the jumbo box and dual climate.

it's done over 130k and appears standard other than HIDs and a stereo. I struggled to get that a year ago on a car with less than half the mileage.

So how much would you say, I have seen a few 6 year old vrs's up here for around £6500 from used car dealers which is what I based my estimate on

7 years old with 132k id say 4k-4.5k maximum(subject to condition & history etc). there is a few high mileage petrol octys in auto trader for 3.5k to 4.5k.

you will be in for about 4.5k with the mk3 out now sorry .

You wont like to hear this and i do hope you get what your looking for but my red VRS which is also 2.0tfsi same year and less than half the millage of yours and has more optional extras was valued by skoda initially at £3.5k trade in value against the blackline last year i managed to get them after much haggling upto £3650 but then decided you know what its mint and i know the complete history and its worth more to me so i kept it and didn't trade it in. Yours will no doubt go for more if your selling private but you might want to revise your expectations a bit if it goes for more then its a bonus.

If its on a dealers forecourt at £6 - 6500 then you can almost garantee they paid 1/2 or 2/3s that for it. They arn't a charity and unless they are making a killing on the car they are selling then they wont venture much higher than the book value in glasses guide. which for the above vehicle is £3.5k i have seen it on the computer screen myself.

does anyone happen to have a glasses guide atm? I wouldnt mind seeing book on my 11 VRS TSI

Prob about the same as mine, I reckon about 4k on a good day. Mine has 112k on now 06 plate, race blue, 18" alloys, PDC, dual zone, Columbus, BT with voice, jumbo, maxidot, auto wipers lights, I'm second owner.

If I got 4k I'd be over the moon as I paid 6.3k for it nearly 3 years ago from a dealer as a 1 owner full history car albeit with 92k miles on.

NI is allergic to faster petrol cars GB book prices do not seem to translate over too well. :(

Vauxhall still have a valuation thing on their site it used to do a Glasses one for free but now its a email you back thing, try it and put in a fake phone number if you don't want them calling.

Vauxhalls thing

After recently trading in my Polo for an Octavia I would forget Glasses guide. Dealers now use CAP instead of Glasses - so find out the valuation from CAP first before going to the dealer. You can do this for free on the Ford website. (I think CAP valuations are lower - surprise, surprise)

Comments re 'extras' added to cars, they don't add any value come trade-in time, all they do is make the car slightly more desirable for the next buyer.

Good luck.

There's a trader on Autotrader selling a 2006 vRS Tfsi estate with similar mileage to yours for just under £4000.

Looking around at other examples on Autotrader, if you sold it privately you'd probably have to advertise it for £3750 and aim to achieve about £3500 or thereabouts.

Trade in value would obviously be well below this.

Trade will be £2600 to £2800

Not sure if it helps but I just did the CAP valuation on my car too:

2006 (06), TFSi Estate, Race Blue, 51k Miles, Xenons, 18's, Cruise, PDC

Trade In Clean £5275 - £5600

Average £4850 - £5150

Kudos to BA https://www.capconne...d.aspx?CH=PWRTZ

Just checked again out of curiosity and same result sub £3.5K

That's really handy - better than the Vauxhall site as it seems to take into account options, and gaves a range of values depending on condition,

Mine

2007 (07) TFSi Hatch, Race Blue, 68k Miles, 18's, Cruise, FSH

Clean - £4750 - 5150

Which doesn't look great but then is almost the same figure I was getting 18 months ago.

Seems mileage must make quite a difference to the price you get then!!

I paid £7500 for mine in Nov 2011 so privately I'd expect to lose anything from £750-£1000 in that time so probably about right I guess!

LOL wtf? 2010 vRS TSi with columbus, maxidot, convinience pack , full leather heated seats and all the trimmings, 37k mileage....£4000-£5000. I think not. Especially since I was offered £10500 for it in trade in only last week.

thanks for the replys , I think i will try and sell privately but not sure if i should sell the car as it is a good car , but thinking of costs as i do 10 miles a day in total work and back in the week so not sure what do really?

Mine out of interest:

2010 vRS Estate, petrol, DSG, metallic silver, curtain bags, Columbus, Bluetooth, rear park, leather, xenons, 31k miles, space saver.

Trade in Clean = £11,050 - £11,750.

More than I thought to be fair.

Great link that Ford one!

Oh dear what tool I was :bandit: ...i've just gone back to check it again and realised I put in 370,000 miles not 37000. Oopps. 10-11k now which is more like it. Oh well at least it would still be worth something with a third of a million miles on it :giggle:
