£5k depreciation in three years and 42k miles seems entirely respectable to me.

My Mk2 Octy depreciated by twice that much, albeit having also done twice the miles.

that site is saying my vrs had dropped in value over 2k since november......I doubt it.

I often peruse the classifieds/Autotrader etc looking at possible trade in's for mine. Trouble is to get a proper "upgrade" I'd need to spend upwards of 8k on top of my car as trade in. Even then it wouldnt really be much of an upgrade (certainly no more toys/comfort) and a minimal and totally unuseable on the road performance hike...especially as I've just forked out about £800 to get it to stage 2! To get a "real" upgrade I would be looking at having to spend around £20k plus my car - and then it would be a similar level of performance and comfort as I have now just with a "better" badge. So it's just not worth it. So I shall to shall continue to mod mine :)

If you are comparing a trade in price to what you paid, that's the dealers profit margin you are looking at.

Yeah its amazing the number of people who drive past car dealers and see a car similar to theirs and think theirs is worth the same amount.

Half it and your somewhere close trade in price.
