LEAKING PASSANGER DOOR

Featured Replies

Ive noticed over the past 2 mornings a little pool of water on the passangers matt and have followed the water up to the bottom of the door under the door tray. Ive looked at the rubbers around the frame and it has water between the rubber and the metal of the frame of the door but cant see how it can get there unless the rubber around the actual door is busted. It looks like a little bit of rubber around the door is sitting the wrong way and could possible be letting water in that way. This probably doesnt make to much sense and will try and get some pictures up later but has anyone else had issues with the door seals leaking? And what sort of price is a replacment seal?

Thanks

I noticed that on mine the other day. I day I was sat in the car it was hammering it down onto the passenger side and I seen water dripping down the inside sill. Ive not noticed a puddle on the mat though.

i had this on my drivers side door of my old 10 plate octavia elegance. Had it fixed by the dealer replacing the seals . Although after nasty front end smash which was repaired the drip came back in really heavy rain.

I think it's the window seal as it has a small 5mm gap near the mirror. Think it may be running through the door card!

This may not apply to the skoda, but the old passat my mum drove had this same issue. It was because of a dodgy pollen filter!

Worst bit is, it cost her like £300 from VW and to replace one when working it's about £10 :wall:

i wonder if this is why I get water pouring out of the drain holes after being parked in the rain?

Is the gap sealable with anything?

Not sure, it's £130 fitted at skoda, need to make sure it's that first!!

Myself and my neighbour had water coming in from a faulty windreen seal. on our old 04 Octavia, At first I thought it was the door seal but its dificult to see how rain can get through even without a seal. I thought they would have sorted water leaks by now. The padding is so sick under the drivers feet it only showed up as dampness on the mat, but after lifting the mat is was absolutely soaking wet

The doors on skodas are knowing to leak badly when they do. When you take the door card off you will see Big metal plate bolted or riveted to the door. It's the seal that's between this metal panel and the door that leak. You can get new seals or silicon it up.

My n/s/f door leaks under hard rain. I had the window motor lubricated under warranty and I bet they didn't seal the carrier afterwards :(

Job for the better weather I think.
