You posted the same topic correctly under Items Wanted.

Wait for an answer there.

Posting it in here too and bumping doesn't help.

Sooner or later (from my conversations, sooner) ColinD will bring order to this section which is a carefully disorganized mix of technical topics, e-bay market, Skoda diapers wholesale, and of course, the not waving hello Fun.

Yes, yes, heaven forbid that the forum should be a relaxed place to be, or for coming to ask questions (even of a newbie type).

(Feeling that Massterful wind blowing through here again.)

JunglistJed:

Firstly, welcome to the forum. :) You'll have to excuse the cold winds that blow through here from time to time.

Secondly: Have you had a look around on ebay? Or the local dealer. (Mine has been quite helpful in the past) Or maybe breakers yards.

I haven't seen any Caddys or Skoda pickups with roof-racks. There are plenty with the basic roof-bars on to which other things bolted. There were also roof-bars for the Truckman tops too. If you go looking in the breakers yards, the only ones to be wary of are The Funs: they had two sets of bars (long and short). The short ones will be fine, the long ones won't fit as they are designed to attach to something the Caddy doesn't have.

I have seen on ebay various frames that bolt into the loadspace to help with carrying longer items (ladders, drain-pipe etc). Depends on what you're looking to carry really.

@RainbowFire

In ANY moderated forum, JunglistJed (or adakt 'The Dude') behavior is considered SPAMMING or TROLLING.

To be more precise, every member has to respect some Terms and if you'll read carefully section 4. Conduct and warnings you'll see there are 3 rules broke by JunglistJed. It is you who encourages him to persist in those terms violation. In fact, if you are so concerned about his well being, why didn't you answer him in the right section, Items Wanted? See 98 Felicia parts wanted! double post. I tell you why, it's too obvious, it's because you don't like me and decided to use every opportunity to pick on me. I know your kind, my people had to suffer too often from such ill, deceiving, bitter, vengeful way of thinking. But it's ok, I don't like you either and I would appreciate if you would stay away from my posts and stop making direct or indirect comments about me.

If you need a relaxed atmosphere (like you said in your characteristic manipulative way), go to the pub. We don't serve Guinness in here. We have rules.

Adurer,

You've made 266 posts, I have responded to probably less than 20 of those. If you think that this is "every opportunity" then there is something lacking in your math skills. What I think of you is irrelevant as well. I haven't had enough discussion with yourself to have formed a full opinion, yet. Conversely I'll lose no sleep over you not liking me either. :)

If you think a member has broken any of the rules, there is a "Report" button. You're free to use it at any time. If I recall correctly, the forum has moderators who will respond to such reports. However, they won't always respond in the manner you'll think appropriate.

FYI: The post was answered here as I currently have no parts to offer, so wading through the "Parts Wanted" section would be a waste of my time.

As with this post, both of yours go "off topic" which is against the rules too. However as you've already read and digested all of the forum rules, you'll already be aware of this, won't you. :)

You can't get rid of your manipulative way of talking, do you?

Like hiding under the rug your mistakes and emphasizing on invented ones in your counterpart.

I learned about this tactic when I was a junior in psychology college. While you can fool other members of this forum not so aware of people's twisted behavior, you can't fool me. You're busted.

Adurer - the only thing that's busted is your attitude! JunglistJed was simply asking a general question as as a new member was probably not fully aware of the rules. I, like most people, have better things to do than read all of the terms and conditions of every forum that I join. At least RainbowFire had the courtesy to welcome JunglistJed and try and be helpful. Whilst JunglistJed may have been wrong posting the same topic in more than one section, in my opinion the tone of your response was heavy handed. A welcome to JunglistJed and then a gentle reminder about the rules was all that was required. At least that way he is more likely to want to come back and use the forum again.

Here's a quote from the same Rules, section 1.

Your ignorance that the forum rules exist is not a valid defence from site staff enforcing them.

If you have a problem with that, why don't you report it to ColinD, see if he'll change rules for you and your friends.

I don't know what's going on with this forum lately, but whatever is going on here needs to stop guys, I'm getting sick of reading inane crap like this, it's driving newbies and some of the hard core old timers away.

Totally agree. But we have to decide:

- are all forum rules mandatory to everybody from day 1 or not?

- do we agree to continue mixing a flea market, a car sales, a car workshop, and a pub under the same section or not?

We need a poll OR people could send their ideas to ColinD, like I did.

Hi - Unfortunately the attitude problem is also something exuded in the above post. Instead of jumping down the OP's throat - simply report using the report button and we will remove the duplicate. There is no need for the attitude in the above post to a newbie's question, even if it IS a duplicate. Sometimes I think you (and other members) need to back off and think before posting attacking posts like these.
