a quick question, the air temperature display on my fabia 1.4 8v shows aprox 8 degrees higher than actual air temp. does this display have any bearing on how the engine runs ? or is it just for showing ambient temperature.?

The sensor is at the front of the car behind the bumper, if this has become dislodged it could be resting against a coolant pipe or the radiator leading to an incorrect reading.

thanks, when i turn the key and its stone cold its reading a balmy 10 degs C even with 2 inches of snow at the moment :(

the car has a missfire at starting and wondered if this had anything to do with it
