Sorry this may be in the wrong section but as you can imagine im rather p****ed off!!!

This morning i woke up and some wonderful 'professional' car theif brought it upon themselves to help themselves to my front bumper, leaving my number plate behind, fog lights and side mount intercooler (standard)

My cars corrida red and im from the Sheffield area.

Thought id put word about to be careful if your local or if your buying stuff please be wary if you see something and let me know! Gutted at mo because obviously my car isnt driveable right now!

Id post some pictures but im sending this at work with no pictures, im sure you know what a bumperless and intercoolerless fabia looks like though!!!

Yeah should have said. its a red fabia vrs.

IF it dose appear on Ebay or whatever. the only mark, apart from the obvious stone chips etc is on the NS underneath a big scuff from where its caught something at some stage. doubt ill ever see any of it again but if anyone knows anything it would be nice.

Also if anyone has a spare intercooler going locally because i need one bad! Its that or get money out and get a front mount and weld everything on so it cant be took again lol

Feel angry for you mate! Im always on ebay so will keep a look out aswell. Cant believe they stole the bumper though never heard of that before. Did they break anything getting it off?

Sounds like someone with a red VRS has broken their own and wanted a replacement, so I doubt it will find it's way onto Ebay.

If someone was trying to make their non-VRS into a VRS looking front end, they would have taken the lights etc.

Yeah well ive been in touch with police and had a word around the area to see if anything was seen late on, as you can imagine..nothing :/

Annoys me though knowing theres a good chance it wont appear on Ebay and also the fact its been stolen order.

They put two perfect holes either side of my grill to get to the two bolts and not damaged a thing, unbolted everything bit by bit. although they did manage to snap off a pipe from the washer jet. Safe to say the jet is the least of my issue!

If im honest i dont think the bumper was the main target i think it was the intercooler for some odd reason. but why go through the effort of taking it off not to take it anyway. Doubt ill find them though. just have to get my money out wont i. thinking of getting some added alarm or something for it incase anyone decides to have another pop when i replace it!

That was a big deal in and around birmingham, every other day I heard of them going missing, very poor design on fords half!

And Sport BMWs - the bumpers are about £200 an end!

I know it's not much help now, but BMW people often fit different sized/security bolts to hold them on to try and stop theft - might be something to look into if it starts getting more common.

Sorry to hear though. Maybe try letting the police know? I doubt it'll come to anything, but when my car was broken into they caught the guy as he had done several in the same night.

My Mrs ST is missing side skirts and bumper trim currently. Thought the average Fabia owner was a cut above the Chavvy Fiesta drivers but apparently not. Gutted for you mate.

Getting it towed into work tomorrow hopefully so start stripping it ready for new intercooler.not sure if ill need to strip it though. they have prepped it nicely already :l

One of the blokes at works got a good idea for stopping it, or at least scaring them from doing it again.

The same is happening with some Honda owners. If only you could hide razor blades etc but you'd get done for it.

I struggle to remove a fabia bumper at the best of times with all the torx bolts in the liner and underneath.... How someone managed it on a locked car. For the arch liner ones I usually have to lock the wheels over on each side to do it. so how someone managed to undo them with the wheels pointing straight?....

Yeah the wheels were straight. They arent just some random bloke though are they, they will have done it before plenty of times. They cut perfectly into the grill so they wouldnt disturb the alarm. A very small rachet i recon lol.

I know the leon Cupra r front spliters are a common stole item.

I hope the police manage to find the person who did this and I hope karma gets involved.

Well just got some more info.

My old driving instructor has a fabia vrs at the moment, hes been followed home for the last three nights by a black fabia with four lads in it. he got out to approach them and they proper bombed off but he never got the reg off of them. He doesnt live too far from me really he lives not far from the City school on the edge of woodhouse village if any sheffielders know of that area.

Got me thinking and theres a black fabia that ive seen a few times near my house with a private plate, so its got me thinking a little...
